Christmas 2026
Give them a year of questions about their life.
One question a week, by email, starting on Christmas morning. They write back in their own words, and by next Christmas the answers are a book of their story. £25, once, for all 52 questions, with a gift card to print and put under the tree.
No posting deadline. It’s all email, so you can buy it right up to Christmas Eve and print the card at home.
How the present works
- 1
Sign in with your own email and buy the pass
£25, once. It's your account, so nothing about it reaches them before the day: the sign-in link and the receipt come to you.
- 2
Tell us who it's for
On your dashboard, under “Giving it as a present?”: their name, their email address, who it's from, and the day the first question should arrive. Pick Friday 25 December 2026 and it lands in their inbox at about 9am that morning.
- 3
Print the gift card
A one-page card, A5, that prints on ordinary A4 at home. It says what the present is, who it's from and the date the first question arrives. Put it in a Christmas card or under the tree.
On Christmas morning their first email arrives. It tells them who the present is from, that a new question comes every week for a year, and that their answers go into a book you can download. The first question is “What's your earliest clear memory?”
Before you buy
Is there a last date to order for Christmas?
No posting date to beat, because nothing is posted. Buy it any time up to Christmas Eve, choose Friday 25 December 2026 as the start, and print the card at home.
Will they get anything before Christmas?
No. Nothing is sent to them before the day you pick. Every email before then (the sign-in link, the Stripe receipt) goes to you.
Does buying it in November waste part of the year?
No. The year of questions counts from the start day you choose, not the day you pay. Bought on 10 November and started on Christmas Day, it runs until Christmas Day next year. You can set the start up to six months ahead, so Friday 1 January 2027 or a birthday in the spring works too.
What do they actually have to do?
Open an email once a week and press the button in it. That opens the question on a plain page with a box to write in. There's no app, no account and no password. The questions come every Friday if you start on Christmas Day. Skipping a week is fine: the same question waits.
What if they don't really use email?
Then leave their email address blank and the questions come to you instead. Plenty of people read the question out over a cup of tea or on the phone and type the answer in themselves. It ends up in the same book.
Do I get to see what they write?
Yes. Their answers are saved in your account, and the book you download from your dashboard has every one of them in it. The first email tells them that, so nobody is writing under a false impression.
I tried the free questions myself. Will my answers end up in their book?
Only if you leave them there. The first 3 questions are free to try, and if you've answered some, the gift section on your dashboard offers to delete them before the present starts.
What if they'd rather not?
You can cancel within 14 days of buying for a full refund, no reason needed. Email hello@storyprompt.co.uk. They can also stop the emails themselves from the link at the bottom of every one.
